Recent events.                                                                                                 

The Honourable Deb Grey, former MP, led us on the second annual DEB GREY RIDE OF HOPE FOR HAITI, the big motorcycle ride, on  May 15 and we raised $10,000 for GLA! 35 riders on 24 bikes met in Sylvan Lake for a good program, a great meal, good fellowship and had a super ride in 25 degree Alberta sunshine, all for the cause! Thanks Deb and all of you who raised money by riding with us. MAY 14, 2011 is next!

The "Healing Haiti" concert and fundraiser in Winnipeg April 21 raised almost $3000 for GLA! Way to go Winnipeg! And many thanks to Samantha Lockhart.

The High Valley concert May 28 in Cochrane was a great success too. Good music, successful Live and Silent auction with wonderful desserts and all the proceeds went to GLA. Good work Brenda and Jeff!

The Cornerstone Classic Golf Tournament on June 21 raised over $30,000 for GLA! Almost 70 golfers enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in Okotoks on the fabulous Darcy Ranch course, a good dinner with silent and Live auctions. Thank you Sharon Dallaire for doing all this!

Thank you Amanda Strain for organizing the garage sale that brought in over $2400 for GLA!

We praise God for this! The German Church of God in Edmonton raised over $17,000 during their DVBS program with 61 children enrolled. We trust that some of these children and youth will be led to serve at GLA or some other orphanage in the future.

We hear there is a GLA REUNION being planned for near Vancouver the weekend of July 23-25 2010. Molly and Joyce may be there, we hear all adoptive parents, volunteers, staff, anyone with a connection to GLA is welcome. EDMONTON FUNDRAISER October 30, 6pm, at Ellerslie Road Baptist. The 5th annual event will include a silent auction, live auction, a Dessert selection to drive chocolate fans insane, and guest speaker PHIL CALLAWAY. We plan to give a full report on our activity in Haiti since January 12, to help you understand what Haitians are living through, and to show you how you can help.      More to come.
